Newly appointed Nigeria Ambassador to Brazil
Adamu Emozozo has warned anybody that has no genuine and legitimate
business to do during the World Cup in Brazil not to even try applying
for visas because such persons will be refused. The Ambassador told Goal that all arrangements have been made between Nigeria and the Brazilian Embassy to make procurement of visas easy for people that would be in the South American country legitimately.
Emozozo who is bound to resume work in Brazil next week disclosed this during his courtesy call on the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari in Abuja on Wednesday.
“Visa procurement is at the discretion of every government. We are already discussing with the Brazilian authority via the Embassy and the modalities for ensuring that those who have legitimate business to do during the (2014) World Cup do not have to be deprived of visas to go to Brazil. That is being assured and the Presidency is on top of that,” Emozozo told Goal.
The Ambassador also assured on spectatorship promising large turnout of Nigerians to watch Eagles matches in all the venues Nigeria would be playing.
“We have a lot of Nigerians or Nigeria related people in Brazil who will give Nigeria whatever amount of support we need for the Eagles to triumph. I am sure that the Brazilians would be there to support [the Super Eagles]. Because they are sporting people the Brazilians will support the Eagles to the last whistle even if [Nigeria] have to beat Brazil in the competition.
”We will surely do our best to ensure Nigerians living in Brazil troop out in large numbers to support the Super Eagles in all the matches the team would play in Brazil,” he assured.
